What is Trehalose?
Trehalose, also known as mycose or tremalose, is a natural alpha-linked disaccharide formed by an &alpha,&alpha-1,1-glucoside bond between two &alpha-glucose units.In 1832, H.A.L. Wiggers discovered trehalose in an ergot of rye, and in 1859 Marcellin Berthelot isolated it from trehala manna, a substance made by weevils, and named it trehalose.It has high water retention capabilities, and is used in food and cosmetics.

Features of Trehalose
1.Improve sweetness and taste: Trehalose is 45% as sweet as sucrose, with pure sweetness, refreshing without aftertaste, and the sweetness can penetrate quickly compared with sucrose.
2.Low corrosion, helps prevent tooth decay: Trehalose rarely produces acid in the mouth, and does not produce insoluble glucan that causes tooth decay.
3.Heat resistance and acid resistance: Even if heated at 100℃ and pH 3.0 for 30 minutes, it will not color or decompose.
